Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or milk)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Mince garlic and cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cook pasta: Boil salted water, add pasta, and cook until al dente, then drain.
  3. Sauté garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add broccoli: Toss in broccoli florets with a splash of water, cover, and steam for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Cook shrimp: Uncover the pan, add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Cook until shrimp are pink and opaque (about 3-5 minutes).
  6. Create sauce: Stir in cream and lemon juice; combine well. Add cooked pasta and toss until everything is coated.
  7. Serve hot topped with Parmesan cheese.
