Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Blend both mixtures until smooth without overmixing.
- Divide batter evenly among prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cakes cool, melt butter and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in coconut flakes and pecans; let cool before frosting.
- Once cooled completely, layer cakes with frosting in between and frost the top and sides.
