  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Blend both mixtures until smooth without overmixing.
  5. Divide batter evenly among prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the cakes cool, melt butter and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in coconut flakes and pecans; let cool before frosting.
  7. Once cooled completely, layer cakes with frosting in between and frost the top and sides.
