- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pistachios
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup honey (for drizzling)
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk and melted butter; stir until combined into a sticky dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm area for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread melted butter on top, then sprinkle with nuts, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and drizzle honey over it.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to form a log. Cut it lengthwise and twist the halves together before shaping into a spiral.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place shaped buns on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle with additional honey while warm before serving.
