  • ½ cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn using an air popper or stovetop until you have about 10 cups of fluffy popcorn. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter; then add the sugar and salt. Stir continuously for about 4-5 minutes until bubbling.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and food coloring if desired.
  4. Pour the hot candy mixture over the popped corn in a large bowl; gently fold until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Spread coated popcorn onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  6. Allow to cool completely before breaking into clusters and store in an airtight container.
