  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic, five-spice powder, and pineapple juice.
  2. Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag and pour marinade over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and sear each thigh in a hot skillet or on the grill for about 5 minutes per side until browned.
  5. Brush reserved marinade onto chicken while cooking until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving with rice or veggies.
