Description

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (100% pure)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and pumpkin puree until smooth.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. If desired, fold in chocolate chips for added decadence.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
