  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse and drain the mixed beans thoroughly.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add chopped onion and bell peppers; sauté until tender.
  3. Transfer the cooked mixture to a crock pot. Add the rinsed beans, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir well to combine. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Before serving, check consistency; if too runny, cook uncovered on high for an additional 30 minutes.
