Description

Sour Cream Noodle Bake is a creamy, comforting casserole that combines tender egg noodles, savory ground meat, and rich sour cream. This dish is perfect for family dinners or potlucks.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • Garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles in salted boiling water until al dente (6-8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground meat with diced onions until soft (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, cream of mushroom soup, and sour cream until well combined.
  5. Layer half of the cooked noodles in the greased baking dish, followed by half of the meat mixture and half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
