Ingredients

Dressing Base

  • 1 cup mayonnaise preferably full-fat
  • 1 cup buttermilk or milk for a lighter version

Seasonings

  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Instructions

Prepare the Dressing

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise and buttermilk. Whisk until smooth.
  • Add the red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Whisk all ingredients together until well combined and creamy.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Transfer the dressing to a jar with a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

This dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Shake well before each use.
