Ingredients

For the shrimp

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed

For the tostadas

  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup refried beans optional
  • 1 cup cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup tomato diced
  • 0.5 cup avocado sliced
  • 0.25 cup cilantro chopped

For the lime crema

  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Instructions

Prepare the shrimp

  • In a mixing bowl, combine shrimp, olive oil, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.

Prepare the tostadas

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place corn tortillas on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until crispy.
  • Spread refried beans on each tortilla if using, then top with cooked shrimp, shredded cabbage, diced tomato, sliced avocado, and chopped cilantro.

Make the lime crema

  • In a small bowl, mix together sour cream, lime juice, and salt until smooth.
  • Drizzle the lime crema over the assembled tostadas before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite ingredients like jalapeños or cheese.
