Instructions
Prepare the filling
In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
Stir in cumin, chili powder, and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and mix in shredded cheese until melted.
Assemble the tacos
Heat the corn tortillas in a dry skillet until warm.
Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each tortilla and fold in half.
Fry the tacos
In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Carefully add the folded tacos and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve
Top the tacos with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and salsa before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, replace the meat with sautéed vegetables or beans.
